The National Conference of State Legislatures has assembled publications, Web sites and other resources on public policy for the use of DNA evidence in the criminal justice system. State legislatures consider a variety of concerns related to DNA and Crime, including the admissibility of DNA evidence, policies governing the maintenance of DNA Databanks, and qualifying offenses for DNA collection. This Web page provides current information on public policy for DNA & Crime to assist legislators, their staff and others in understanding the technology and its potential ethical, legal and social consequences.

NOTE: The National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) does not endorse any views expressed by non-NCSL resources.
