Victoria Wachino, M.P.P. Associate Director Kaiser
Commission on Medicaid and the Uninsured Kaiser Family
Foundation
Vikki Wachino is Associate Director of the Kaiser Commission on Medicaid and
the Uninsured. An expert in health care for low-income people, Ms. Wachino
specializes in the Medicaid program, especially how the financing of the program
affects health care coverage. Her recent work has focused on the impact of
state budget and revenue shortfalls on the Medicaid program.
Prior to joining the Kaiser Family Foundation, Ms. Wachino served as a senior
advisor to the Director of the White House Office of Management and Budget, and
has also worked in other capacities at OMB. She has also worked on health
and welfare programs at the state and local level. Ms. Wachino is a graduate of
Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government, where she earned a Master’s
degree in Public Policy, and of Mount Holyoke College.
The Kaiser Commission on Medicaid and the Uninsured, a major initiative of
the Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation, functions as a policy institute for
analyzing health insurance and access for the low-income population and
assessing options for reform.
