Central Massachusetts Oral Health Initiative (www.fluoridefacts.org) web site provides information on the benefits of fluoridating water, the facts surrounding the issue and web links to other organizations in support of fluoridation. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (www.cdc.gov/OralHealth/topics/fluoridation.htm) Oral Health web site provides information on Healthy People 2010, fluoride facts, oral health data systems, research on specific state water systems, and links to journal articles on fluoridation. Review of Fluoride: Benefits and Risks (http://health.gov/environment/ReviewofFluoride/). This report from the US Department of Health and Human Services provides a balanced overview of fluoride benefits and risks, policy recommendations, and research recommendations. The report evaluates health conditions in relation to fluoride intake, such as cancer, dental fluorosis and bone fractures. Citizens for Safe Drinking Water (www.nofluoride.com) provide quotes and links to government studies and information on international initiatives against fluoridation. Visitors may also sign up to receive email newsletters, current updates and election results for cities voting on fluoridating their communities. Fluoride Action Network (www.fluoridealert.org) is an international coalition to end water fluoridation and alert people to fluoride's health and environmental risks. |
