The Administration On Aging (AOA) has an excellent web page that has a wide range of statistics on elderly people, people with disabilities, and long-term care at http://www.aoa.gov/aoa/stats/statpage.html. The AOA site also has an extensive collection of links that is organized by topic at http://www.aoa.gov/agingsites/default.htm.

The Health Care Financing Agency (HCFA) has a wealth of information on community-based long-term care. Highlights include http://www.hcfa.gov/medicaid/ltchomep.htm, a collection of links to policies, state profiles and data sources on Medicaid long-term care services. HCFA also has a page devoted to home and community-based services waivers at http://www.hcfa.gov/medicaid/hpg4.htm. From that page, you can download the latest summary report of all regular and model approved home and community-based services waivers into a zip file.

The Census Bureau has compiled statistics on people with disabilities from the 1990 decennial census. The results are presented in tables, graphs and maps. Go to http://www.census.gov/hhes/www/disable/census.html to view the information.

The Office of Disability, Aging and Long-Term Care Policy has an extensive collection of reports, research and data sets available through its web site at http://aspe.hhs.gov/daltcp/.

The National Association of State Medicaid Directors web site contains information about HCBS 1915(c) waivers. View the site at http://medicaid.aphsa.org/waivers/waivers.htm.

The Oregon Department of Human Services has posted a summary of the Oregon model at http://www.sdsd.hr.state.or.us/about/oregon_model.htm.

Other good sources of information include the Urban Institute at http://www.urban.org ; the Kaiser Family Foundation at http://www.kff.org ; the Family Caregivers' Alliance at http://www.caregiver.org ; and Elder Web at http://www.elderweb.com.
