Delaware

7 Delaware uses the SAPT BG  to fund two contractual outpatient  NTPs.  These programs are required to follow the federal  guidelines for opioid treatment programs as well as state  licensing standards for outpatient NTPs.
8 All of our contracted providers are encouraged to use best  practices in treating clients including use of medications.  All  contractors must meet state licensing standards.

Florida

9 Vivitrol is being used for alcoholism treatment using minimal block grant funds and is being done outside of traditional NTP settings.  The participating providers do have separate NTPs (methadone, suboxone).

Georgia

10 Naltrexone may be used by any licensed NTP at the discretion of the medical director.  This includes the three public programs that receive Block Grnat funding.

Illinois

11 SAPT Block Grant funding is not used to support office based practice at this time
12 As stated in response to prior questions, treatment agencies funded by DASA may utilize contract and other funds to support use of medications.

27 OASAS block grant funding is not used to fund specific medications. Block grant monies fund treatment programs.

North Dakota

28 No methadone clinics in ND

Ohio

29 In Ohio, independently practicing physicians are not recognized as being eligible for ODADAS treatment program certification, therefore ODADAS is unable to enter into a business arrangement with them.
ODADAS-certified treatment programs can partner with physicians practicing in the same community to provide the physicians with a treatment (counseling) referral source to assist the physicians in meeting their DATA 2000 referral source requirement.
30 In Ohio, ODADAS licensed opioid agonist programs are limited to the use of only liquid methadone as the opioid agonist.  Therefore, they can not administer Buprenorphine as an ODADAS treatment service.
ODADAS licensed opioid agonist programs are owned an operated by business entities which also own and operate ODADAS-certified treatment programs, in fact it is a requirement.  Under this scenario, while they can not dispense the Buprenorphine, they could be partnering with community based physicians as a treatment (counseling) referral source to assist them in meeting their DATA 2000 referral source requirement.
31 In Ohio, independently practicing physicians are not recognized as being eligible for ODADAS treatment program certification, therefore ODADAS is unable to enter into a business arrangement with them.
32 In Ohio, ODADAS licensed opioid agonist programs are limited to the use of only liquid methadone as the opioid agonist.  Therefore, they can not prescribe and administer Naltrexone as an ODADAS opioid agonist service.

Virginia

33 If SAPT subrecipients choose. Drug is available through State-operated pharmacy
34 If SAPT subrecipients choose
35 It would be up to SAPT subrecipients, but we are not aware that naltrexone is being used.
36 It would be up to SAPT subrecipients, but we are not aware that naltrexone is being used.

Washington

37 This practice would be permissible by rule, however, we believe no more than 10 patients in NTPs have been prescribed Suboxone.
Certified and contracted programs receive an all inclusive daily rate which includes:
• medication
• physical exam
• medical exam
• counseling services
• assessment
