The Forum for State Health Policy Leadership
Who We Are
Our mission is to improve decision making and leadership among state legislators with respect to current and emerging critical health policy issues.
The Forum was established in 1995 to respond to the challenges in health policy development facing states with record high turnover among elected officials. The Forum meets the diverse needs of:
- legislators who are new members of health committees;
- veteran legislators who have substantial expertise in health policy;
- health committee chairs, and;
- legislative staff.

What We Do
The Forum maintains several projects, each of which aim to enhance the policy making faculties within the states. Throughout our projects, we ensure a balanced and reliable flow of information to, and among, legislators. You can count on us to provide targeted, comprehensive services to every health legislator, from rookie to veteran.
