Fiscal Affairs ProgramGoverning for ResultsNevadaLinks active October 11, 2000 Overview: In 1993 the legislature required the governor to submit agency mission statements and performance goals for each budget account. The mission statement has to be consistent with statutes and the state strategic plan, which is updated every two years by a state planning agency. These appear in the governor's budget submission to the legislature. Agencies must report actual performance to the budget office quarterly. The Legislative Auditor's Office reviews agency performance data in the course of agency audits.
