Overview: Idaho law requires state agencies to submit strategic plans with at least a four-year perspective and a performance plan along with their annual budget requests. Agency performance reports and performance evaluations are available.

• The Office of Performance Evaluations (OPE) is a nonpartisan, independent office that serves the Legislature by evaluating whether state government programs and agencies are managed efficiently, could operate more cost-effectively, and are achieving intended results. The reviews performed by the OPE are used by the Legislature to make policy and appropriation decisions and by agencies to improve performance.

Manual/Instructions: The Department of Financial Management site includes links to agency performance reports and executive budget detail, to budget instructions, and to Guidance Memos (near the bottom of the site) which include directions to agencies on strategic planning and performance reporting.
