States with Bridges and Structures Training and Certification

Does the state require TCA of people involved in deleading on bridges & structures?

If yes, are requirements the same as for abatement, inspection and risk assessment, if not list the disciplines.

If yes, what triggers the requirement for use of trained or certified deleaders?

Has the state instituted work practice standards specific to any of the these?

Does the state have other requirements related to the specs of repainting jobs for:

Does the state require that persons or entities living or located near a deleading activity be notified prior to the project?

* Iowa rules not written yet and can't be developed until EPA finalizes its' regulations.

* Ilinois has no state regulations currently in place. Upon promulation of federal legisaltion applicable to deleading bridges and structures, enforcement of certifcation and licensing requirements will be conducted by the Dept of Public Health. Work practices enforcement may be conducted by Illinois EPA and/or the Dept of Public Health.

* Missouri-50sq. ft. or more disturbed.

* Utah-The Utah Division of Air Quality has legistative authority to develop rules and regulations for renovation and remodeling projects. To date, no administrative rules have been written. The Division of Air Quality will evaluate R&R federal regualtions when promolgated and determine the need for a R&R certification program in Utah.
