Environmental Health Legislation and Statutes Databases

Updated July 2008

NCSL tracks state legislation and statutes that address environmental health concerns, from each of the 50 states, most territories and the District of Columbia.  The two databases track environmental health legislation and statutes.

The Environmental Health Legislation database tracks legislation covering topics including indoor air quality, pesticides, mercury, lead, asthma, children's environmental health, asbestos, toxics, surveillance and mosquito control.  The Environmental Health Statutes database lists the citations for each state law that addresses the same environmental health topics, plus solid wastes, hazardous wastes, air quality and water.

Environmental Health Legislation Database

The Environmental Health Legislation database tracks legislation from the 50 state legislatures and territories since 2001 and includes legislation on topics such as mercury, lead poisoning, pesticides and indoor air quality.

The database is updated quarterly and all entries include brief summaries of current legislation as well as status and bill number.

Environmental Health Statutes Database

The Environmental Health Statutes database lists state statutory citations from the 50 states on environmental health topics such as mercury, lead poisoning, pesticides and indoor air quality.

The database lists the statutory citation and offers links to the state statutes website maintained by the individual states.
