2008 Bike Summit

On March 4-6, 2008, the League of American Bicyclists hosted their annual National Bike Summit. NCSL staffer Douglas Shinkle presented on the various strategies states use to fund construction and maintenance of bicycle paths and other infrastructure. In addition, Neal Peirce, a nationally syndicated columnist, wrote a column on the summit and the growing interest by various levels of government in encouraging bicycling, please click here for the article. For information on state legislation regarding bicycling and other active living and healthy eating issues, please contact Douglas Shinkle at douglas.shinkle@ncsl.org
