NCSL’s annual Energy Policy Summit is scheduled for Tuesday, July 22, in conjunction with the NCSL 2008 Legislative Summit in New Orleans. Rising fuel costs, increasing dependency on imported oil and natural gas, and concerns about climate change are at the top of state lawmakers' agendas. Although challenges abound, many see a chance to shape America's energy future in a way that energizes the economy and workforce by utilizing domestic energy resources and American ingenuity. This year's Energy Summit will explore the issues and opportunities that policymakers face as they develop energy policies that promote vibrant economies and healthy environments.
