Energy Security and Reliability

Energy Security Picture

The Security and Reliability of the nation’s energy infrastructure is a focus of the states.  States recognize the need to provide consistent power supply at a reasonable price and reduce the vulnerabilities within the energy system.  The preparation for and response to energy emergencies or supply disruptions is also of importance to states.

NCSL works closely with the U.S. Department of Energy, Department of Homeland Security and other state organizations to inform and educate legislators on the issues surrounding energy infrastructure security and reliability.
