Energy Efficiency ResourcesUpdated November 4, 2008
The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) offers many sites devoted to energy efficiency.
Other Useful Sites Include: The Alliance to Save Energy is a coalition of business, government, environmental and consumer leaders who promote clean and efficient energy. American Council for an Energy Efficient Economy (ACEEE) is dedicated to advancing energy efficiency as a means of promoting both economic prosperity and environmental protection. ASHRAE, the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers is an international organization seeking to advance the arts and sciences of heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration for the public's benefit. Association of Energy Service Professionals (formerly the Association of Demand-Side Management Professionals) is an association of utility executives, consultants, manufacturers, researchers, government regulators, and others concerned with promoting energy efficiency and value. Building Codes Assistance Project was established in 1994 as a joint initiative of the Alliance to Save Energy, the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy, and the Natural Resources Defense Council. Its website offers a great deal of information on state adoption of building codes. Center for Energy Efficiency & Renewable Technologies (CEERT) is a virtual "clean power" guide with regularly updated information on energy alternatives and energy efficiency. The Ernest Orlando Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory site offers varied information on a wide variety of topics related to energy and energy efficiency. The Export Council for Energy Efficiency (ECEE), promotes the export of energy efficient products, services, and technologies worldwide, and is a non-profit consortium of five of the nation's leading advocates of energy efficiency: The New Buildings Institute is a non-profit organization that encourages the efficient use of energy in buildings, and thus to mitigate the adverse environmental impacts resulting from energy use in buildings. PAYS America is a non-profit organization that advocates an innovative financing model for energy efficiency. Public Citizen Critical Mass Energy Project offers issue updates, publications and Internet resources. Minnesotans for an Energy-Efficient Economy's Sustainable Minnesota offers a site devoted to energy efficiency resources. The Texas State Performance Review web site has helpful, interactive information about cutting utility bills in schools.
