Improving Air Quality
There is growing acceptance that we need to and continue to act on air quality.  Impending regulation from the Federal government also is a factor.  Carbon issues are becoming more prominent.  What technologies exist to deal with emissions and what’s to come?  What policies are needed or will be needed to improve air quality?

CONSECUTIVE SESSIONS (All in ORNL Conference Center):

  • NCSL Opening Comments
  • Welcome and Overview of the Oak Ridge National Laboratory - Dr. Jeffrey Wadsworth, Director, Oak Ridge National Laboratory - (Adobe PDFPDF Presentation)

The Energy Profile Puzzle
The current energy profile for generation is a mix of fossil fuels, renewable energy and energy efficiency.  As demand continues to grow, what resource mix will meet the nation’s energy needs?  What is our conservation and efficiency potential?  What are the clean energy alternatives?  Climate change, energy security, diversity and economic development spur the adoption of different resources.  How do these factors complement air quality needs?
