Workshop on Building Resiliency into Energy Assurance Planning Agenda (Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday, April 23)
Registration is no longer available, contact Kate Marks at (303) 856-1404.
Policymakers and State officials are faced with the difficult task of defining energy policy while facing energy price volatility, supply uncertainties and global instability challenges. The Energy Outlook conference will feature a national and global perspective on energy supplies, demand, and prices for the upcoming summer season.
New this year, energy officials are invited to participate in an energy assurance planning workshop. The Department of Energy in conjunction with the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) and the Pacific Northwest Economic Region (PNWER) will conduct a special, intensive workshop on building resiliency into energy assurance planning.
The Workshop will use two "mini-exercises" with challenging, diverse scenarios to enable participants to assess and enhance their energy (emergency) assurance plans. The Workshop will also highlight practical guidance, best practices, and, significantly, begin the process of looking more broadly at what it takes for a locality, State, or region to achieve energy resiliency.
Hotel Information: This meeting will be held at the Brown Palace Hotel, located in downtown Denver. Make a reservation for the "Summer Energy Outlook - NCSL" by calling 303.297.3111 or 1.800.321.2599 between the hours of 7:00 am-6:00 pm before Friday, April 11, 2008. The room rate is $155.00.
