Representative Brent Yonts Named Chair

 Representative Brent Yonts of Kentucky has been named the chair of the NCSL Standing Committee on Labor and Economic Development for 2008-2009. Representative Yonts has served as a vice-chair for the committee since 2005. NCSL President Joe Hackney, Speaker of the House for the North Carolina General Assembly, made the appointment during the recent NCSL Legislative Summit in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Representative Yonts, a Democrat, represents the 15th District of Kentucky comprised of Muhlenberg county and parts of Christian and Hopkins counties. He is an attorney in private practice and received his law degree from the University of Kentucky. Representative Yonts has served in the Kentucky General Assembly since 1998.
