Thank you for registering for a National Conference of State Legislatures' web-assisted audio conference.  Following are general instructions on how to log in.  The WEB ROOM NUMBER and TELEPHONE NUMBER can be found on the confirmation page of your registration.

 

REGISTRATION ASSISTANCE

If you have not yet registered, please go back to the conference page, select your conference and register.  For registration assistance contact NCSL at (303) 856-1430 or email to registration@ncsl.org.

 

TEST YOUR COMPUTER

If you have not previously attended a Communicast web-assisted audioconference using the same computer that you plan to use on the day of the event please test your computer IN ADVANCE to avoid delays at the time of the event.  You can test your computer NOW by going to LOGIN, and click "Test My Computer First" at the bottom of the screen.

 

LOGIN INSTRUCTIONS
Login 5-15 minutes before the event start time.

You can participate in this conference at your desk.  You have three options:

  1. Listen to the audio portion and view the slides using the Internet (this requires a sound card in your computer or other means for receiving the web audio).  If you choose this option, you will be able to ensure that it works properly prior to the start of the event.  Once you have connected to the event room, you will automatically hear music if your computer can receive web audio.
  2. Listen to the audio portion on the telephone and view the slides on your computer (this requires an internet connection separate from your phone line).
  3. Print out speaker slides (they will be available 1-2 days before the event) and listen to the audio portion on the telephone.

TO LOG ONTO the web conference:

  • Go to www.eventcenterlive.com
  • Fill in login information and room# (this will be provided on your confirmation), then click "OK"
  • A new window will open to display the web conference

TO RECEIVE AUDIO THROUGH THE INTERNET:

Audio for this program will be streamed via your computer. To test your computer's ability to receive web audio (Flash), go to http://macromedia.com/shockwave/welcome/. If you need to download the audio player go to http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer.

TO RECEIVE AUDIO VIA TELEPHONE:

Dial the Toll-Free number (this will be provided on your confirmation). Your line will be placed in "listen only" status and you will hear music until the event begins.

 

TECHNICAL SUPPORT

For technical assistance while logging onto OR during the conference you may dial *0 on your telephone.  If you require technical support prior to the conference you can write to support@communicast.com or call 703-435-8127 from 9am - 5pm EST.

 

COMMUNICAST SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

  • PC users: Operating System Windows 98 or later.  Java enabled browser: Internet Explorer or Netscape version 4.x or later. NOTE: Some versions of Windows XP do not include Java. To download Java for Windows XP go to www.sun.java.com. Upon completion of the download you will need to restart your computer.
  • Mac users: Java-enabled browser: Internet Explorer version 5.1 or later, running on operating system OSX.
  • 800x600 minimum screen resolution, 1024x768 or higher preferred.

*IMPORTANT: Please disable any software that prevents pop-up windows for the duration of the web conference.*
