2006 Outsourcing Bills

October 2006

In 2006 twentystates have either introduced legislation or are considering legislation that carried over from the previous session concerning outsourcing. Most of the bills require studies, reports or express the sense of the legislature regarding outsourcing. Seven states (Hawaii, New Hampshire, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and West Virginia) are considering bills that would sanction business or companies that outsource jobs. To date, Florida, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, Virginia, and Washington are the only states that have passed legislation in 2006.
