National Conference of State LegislaturesLegislative Bills on Four-Day Work Weeks2007-2008 Legislative Sessions June 12, 2008 Two states, Oklahoma and West Virginia, have looked into the feasibility of requiring a four-day work week in the past two legislative sessions. Below are links to the four resolutions. Okalahoma 2007 HCR 1002 - Creates a four-day work week task force. 2008 HCR 1097 - Encourages all state agencies to adopt a compressed four-day work week. West Virginia 2008 HCR 34 - Requests a study on a 10-hour, four-day work week for state, city and county employees. 2008 HCR 33 - Requests a study on a 10-hour, four-day work week for state, city and county employees.
