Increases the state minimum wage to $6.00 and to $6.75 on January 1, 2001; provides that the state minimum wage in no case to be less than $.10 higher than the effective federal minimum rate

SB6179

Enacts the "farm worker equity and wage reform act" to increase the minimum wage, on and after March 31, 2000, for all workers, including farm workers, to $5.15 an hour or, if greater, the minimum wage established by federal law; authorizes use of farm worker housing project loans regardless of whether the construction or improvement funded thereby is for the purpose of assuring compliance with the state building or sanitary code; requires all moneys received as repayments of such loans to continue to be used to provide such loans; increases the amount of moneys available for such loan program to three million dollars; eliminates the expiration of the provisions establishing such loan program
