A Newsletter of the Human Services and Welfare Committee
NCSL has decided to widen the scope of issues addressed in the State Poverty Policies newsletter and combine it with the Human Services and Welfare Committee newsletter to encompass all the topics that staff in the Denver and Washington, D.C., offices deal with—ranging from welfare reform and families in poverty to positive youth development, early education, child welfare, child support and so forth. Two of the six issues each year will focus on the Human Services and Welfare Committee and the Children and Families Program. These issues will provide information about program issue areas and committee activities, upcoming meetings, new publications and descriptions of technical assistance offered to states.
