Opportunities for Technical AssistanceNCSL's Child Support Project is a resource available to state legislators and staff nationwide. Project staff are available to provide on-site technical assistance to legislators, legislative staff, task forces, work groups, etc. This assistance can take many forms - from an educational presentation for legislators or staff to testimony before a legislative committee to a roundtable discussion with experts we've brought in to assist in understanding a particular issue. We are available to provide guidance on a broad range of child support issues -- everything from parenting time adjustments in child support orders to operating a federally-certified automation system. NCSL provides on-site technical assistance visits at no charge to your state and project staff work diligently to accommodate legislative calendars and legislators' schedules. Other services provided by the project include:
We are always supplementing our library of materials with new and important information on child support initiatives in the states. Our research includes statutory, regulatory, and Internet resources, as well as telephone and fax surveys on issues of particular interest to state legislators.
The Child Support Project periodically researches and publishes child support materials for a legislative audience, addressing their unique questions and concerns.
Our webpage is our most immediate resource for state legislators and staff. We strive to keep up with child support priorities for legislators and to feature materials related to those priorities on the webpage. Our library includes additional information on each of the topics covered on the webpage. If you're interested in the technical assistance opportunities described above, or if you have any other questions, please contact NCSL's Child Support Project at 303/364-7700 or childsupport@ncsl.org. |
