NCSL's Reaction to HR 4348
The following statement is in response to Congress' approval on June 28 of the surface transportation reauthorization conference report (HR 4348), the Moving Ahead for Progress in the 21st Century (MAP-21).
"State legislatures are pleased that Congress has approved H.R. 4348, Moving Ahead for Progress in the 21st Century (MAP-21), which will provide states with 27 months of transportation funding certainty. State legislators looks forward to working with Congress over the next 27 months to develop a shared, long-term vision and financing mechanism for our nation’s surface transportation system that will enhance the nation’s prosperity and the quality of life of all Americans.
