Legislatures in All 50 States To Convene for Regular 2007 Sessions

DENVER - State legislatures in all 50 states will hold regular sessions in 2007. All but five begin in January, 2007 or December, 2006. Others start later thhis year.

The length of sessions varies from a few months to most of the year. Read more about the differences among state legislatures at this NCSL Backgrounder on full- vs. part-time legislatures.

A new party is in power in 11 states. Below is a session calendar showing the regular session schedule. Information about U.S. territories and D.C., as well as special sessions as they develop, is here.
