Registration policies

The registration fee is payable in advance to the National Conference of State Legislatures or onsite. The deadline for pre-registration is July 25, 2011. Please note: the guest fee is only for registrants accompanied by a full-paid attendee. In the event that the full-paid attendee is unable to attend and accompany the guest, the guest fee will be increased to a full-cost registration. Guests are defined as your spouse/partner or a member of your immediate family.

Cancellation/Refund Policy
All cancellations must be made in writing and may be faxed to 303-364-7811, or e-mailed. Cancellations received in the NCSL Denver office by August 7, 2011, will be refunded, less a $50 processing fee. Please allow four to six weeks for refund processing. Fees cannot be refunded for registrations cancelled after the conference begins.

Substitution Policy
Substitutions require an additional processing fee of $25. To make a substitution you must:

  • Submit a written notice of cancellation indicating a request to transfer payment; fax to 303-364-7811, or email.
  • Submit a new registration form. No onsite substitutions are allowed.
  • For substitutions, you will be required to pay the current rate at the time the change is made, which may be higher.

Guest/Spouse Tour Information

Registration for guest tours is on a first come, first served basis.  To ensure the quality and experience of each tour, please sign up for only the tours you intend to participate in. 

Participation for each tour is based on minimum and maximum capacities.  If the minimum capacity of a tour is not met, then the tour will be canceled and registrants will be notified and asked to reschedule or be given a refund.
