Business Meeting

At the Business Meeting, legislators will debate and vote on policy resolutions that determine the states' agenda and NCSL's positions on critical federal issues for 2011-2012. Members will also vote on changes to NCSL’s Rules and By-Laws of procedure: View a webinar on the By-Laws and Rules changes now.

Attend Standing Committees

All legislators and staff should attend Standing Committee meetings on Monday and Tuesday. They are a forum for exchanging information and sharing creative policy ideas and insights. Committee members also work on policy resolutions that form the basis for NCSL's efforts--on behalf of all state legislatures--in Washington, D.C.

Vote on Resolutions

In addition to policy positions developed by the NCSL Standing Committees, any legislator may submit a policy statement or resolution for consideration by providing a copy by Thursday, July 28, to Molly Ramsdell or Neal Osten, co-directors of the NCSL Washington, D.C., office.
