Media Information

Reporters and news organizations won't want to miss a moment of the National Conference of State Legislatures' 37th annual Legislative Summit.

NCSL Legislative Summit

Each summer, NCSL brings thousands of legislators and staff together for its Legislative Summit, the largest and most substantive meeting of its kind in the nation.

The Summit provides the perfect opportunity for policymakers to exchange ideas on the most pressing issues facing states today. And it gives reporters story ideas, new contacts and insights to how issues in their states compare nationally.

For more information, contact Meagan Dorsch, Public Affairs Director.

The Meeting

The 2011 Legislative Summit is four days of 150 policy sessions on the most pressing issues facing state legislatures. Some of the topics include budget conditions, education reform, health care implementation and renewable energy.

Reporters will have several opportunities to interview an array of NCSL policy experts and state lawmakers along with nationally renowned speakers at scheduled press events and during one-on-one interview opportunities.

Press Credentials

NCSL's entire meeting is free and open to credentialed reporters. Please review NCSL's Media Policy to see if you can register as media for the Summit.

You will be able to work from our press room at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center. We provide computers, Internet connections and more.

The National Conference of State Legislatures is the bipartisan voice of the states serving the legislators and staffs of the nation's 50 states, its commonwealths and territories.
