Business Meeting

The NCSL Legislative Summit is your opportunity to help strengthen the role of states and state legislatures in our federal system. Join your legislative colleagues from across the nation to vote on a states' agenda for Washington D.C., that:

  • Preserves state authority
  • Ensures state flexibility
  • Eliminates unfunded mandates
  • Avoids unwarrented federal preemption

Annual Business Meeting

Make your Mark: Thursday, Aug. 9 | 10:30 a.m. - 12:15 p.m

The Legislative Summit culminates with the Business Meeting, where legislators debate and vote on the policy directives and resolutions developed by the standing committees. The results create the states' agenda to guide NCSL's state/federal activities.
