Activities at the Summit

Catch up with old friends and meet new ones as you walk or pedal with colleagues, family and friends.

Walk for Wellness!

Pack your sneakers and join your friends for a 5K walk/run on Wednesday from 6:30 a.m. to 8 a.m. Meet at the Tower of the Americas in historic HemisFair Park, next to the convention center and a short walk from NCSL hotels. Refuel after the event with a healthy breakfast at the Convention Center.

The walk is dedicated to raising awareness of the devastating effects heart disease, diabetes, osteoporosis and obesity have for our nation as a whole, while drawing special attention to the health disparities that exist in minority and underserved communities.

The walk is sponsored by:

  • National Asian Pacific Americans Caucus of State Legislators
  • National Black Caucus of State Legislators
  • National Caucus of Native American State Legislators
  • National Hispanic Caucus of State Legislators
  • Women's Legislative Network of NCSL
  • Legislative Staff Coordinating Committee and the NCSL Health Committee

Meet at 6:30 a.m. in HemisFair Park. Pre-registration is not required, but feel free to contact Katie Ziegler at 303-364-7700 with any questions.

NCSL gratefully acknowledges the support of the American Beverage Association, the American Cancer Society, the American Physical Therapy Association, the International Bottled Water Association, and Nestlé Waters North America.
