 State Legislatures Magazine talked with three experts about the economic challenges facing the states.
- Alison Acosta Fraser. Director of the Thomas A. Roe Institute for Economic Policy Studies at the Heritage Foundation. Before joining the Heritage Foundation in 2003, Fraser was deputy director of the Oklahoma Office of State Finance and a budget manager for Orange County, Calif.
- John Hofmeister. CEO of Shell Oil from 2005 to 2008. He is the founder and chief executive of Citizens for Affordable Energy.
- Marcia Howard. Executive director of the Federal Funds Information for States.
