America's Legislators Back to School Program

Back to School BrochureState Legislative Coordinators Information

Sponsored by the National Conference of State Legislatures, America's Legislators Back to School Program is designed to teach young people--the nation's future voters and leaders--what it's like to be a state legislator: the processes, the pressures, and the debate, negotiation and compromise that are the very fabric of representative democracy.  Legislative leaders in each state appoint state legislative coordinators who are responsible for developing and implementing state specific plans.  

The information on this page is provided specifically for state legislative coordinators.

State Legislative Coordiantors should develop a state-specific work plan that includes; recruiting legislators to participate, coordinating with the education community, reviewing and distributing resource materials prepared and provided by NCSL, coordinating media outreach, attending a civic education network meeting, tagging along on visits and assisting with the program evaluation. View the guidelines for state legislative coordinators.  General information and a list of resource materials available are listed below.
