LogoThe Executive Board is responsible for the ongoing administration and affairs of the Network and for maintaining a close working relationship with NCSL. Board members are expected to attend board meetings (either in person or via conference call) and participate in other Network events whenever possible.

Open Positions 2014-2015

The Network board is bipartisan, with an equal number of Democrats and Republicans from each region.

Vice President (Republican)

One Eastern Regional position  (Republican)
(CT, DE, ME, MD, MA, NH, NJ, NY, PA, PR, RI, VT, VI)

One Midwestern Regional position (Republican)
 (IL, IN, IA, KS, MI, MN, MO, NE, ND, OH, SD, WI)

Two Southern Regional positions (Democrat and Republican)
(AL, AR, DC, FL, GA, KY, LA, MS, NC, OK, SC, TN, TX, VA, WV)

Two Western Regional positions (Democrat and Republican)
(AK, AS, AZ, CA, CO, GU, HI, ID, MT, NV, NM, OR, UT, WA, WY)

One At-Large position (Republican)
(All states and territories)

Application Process

Please ensure that you will have your leadership’s approval to participate in and travel to NCSL events before submitting an application. Board members are responsible for their own travel costs.

Download the application form and return by Friday, July 18. Include a statement indicating why you would like to serve on the board, your contact information, and a short biography.

A nominating committee of current board members reviews all applications and selects a slate of candidates to be officially elected at the Network’s business meeting during the NCSL Legislative Summit. Applicants will be notified of the Committee’s decisions by the end of July.
