The NLPES Listserve is up and running. An e-mail discussion group for NLPES members, this listserve allows a message to be sent to all NLPES e-mail subscribers simultaneously. You and your office can participate by posting "events" you think would be important to the membership (e.g., report publications and executive summaries, new hires, etc.), philosophical audit questions and ideas (when a muse captures a bit of your scant spare time...), and, best of all, questions regarding audits.
About the NLPES Listserv
NLPES offers an e-mail discussion group (listserv) for its members. The listserv allows a message to be sent to all NLPES listserv subscribers simultaneously. For example:
NLPES distributes announcements for its newsletter, professional development seminar and webinars via the listserv.
Audit offices use the listserv to announce their latest reports.
NLPES members use the listserv to gather basic information for their own research. E-mail interchanges tap states' research experience on evaluation topics as diverse as forestry studies and regulation of child care facilities to analyses of judicial system caseloads.
How to Sign-up for the NLPES Listserv
NLPES key contacts usually have their e-mail address registered. How about you? The more use made of this service, the greater our agencies' interdependence and performance can become.
If you are interested in enrolling, follow the directions below.
Send an e-mail requesting to join the NLPES listserv to Brenda Erickson, the NCSL liaison to NLPES.
In the message’s subject area, type “SUBSCRIBE to NLPES Listserv.”
Please include the following contact information in your subscription request:
Audit agency/organization name
City, state, zipcode

How to send a message on the NLPES Listserv

Please use the new e-mail address to post your inquiries or announcements. If you keep an e-mail address book, please remember to update it with the new address.
Please leave three blank lines at the beginning of your message to allow room for the listserv's automatic warning statement.
All subscribers receive inquiries or announcements posted to the listserv. Please note, however, that any responses to a NLPES listserv posting are not broadcast to all subscribers, but are returned only to the individual who originally posted the inquiry.
"Netiquette" for the NLPES Listserv
When using the listserv, please remember the following:
Be professional. (Thanks to you, the NLPES listserv has been relatively free of "party line" banter.)
If you post an inquiry or announcement to the listserv, please include your name, e-mail address and telephone number in the body of the message just in case an NLPES colleague wants to contact you directly.
If you wish to reply to a listserv inquiry, determine whether you want to “reply” to the listserv posting or contact the person directly.
Please do not try to send attachments via the NLPES listserv. The listserv is not configured to support them.
