Join your leadership staff colleagues from across the nation to connect, contribute and collaborate on successful strategies to help you in your legislative staff career. The Leadership Staff Section (LSS) Professional Development Seminar is designed by legislative staff, for legislative staff, and it happens only once a year—don't miss it!
LSS provides a forum for state legislative employees who work for legislative leaders or party caucuses. The LSS seminar is designed to help attendees share solutions, discuss innovative uses of communication, increase the effectiveness of legislative staff and forge important connections with peers from around the country. The meeting features a blend of classroom experiences, facilitated dialogue and experiential tours. There will also be plenty of time to network with your counterparts from other states.
Registration fees are:
- Early Bird August 14: $350
Post early bird rate for legislative staff: $375
All others: $450
Two ways to register:
- Register Online. Online registration requires a credit card for everyone except legislators and legislative staff. Confirmations will be sent by email. Deadline to register online is Sept. 1, 2014.
- Onsite Registration. Onsite registration will be available at the Westin New Orelans Canal Place on Sept. 14.
- Spouse/Guest Registration. The $150 guest fee includes admission to all scheduled meal functions and evening social events.

Cancellations received in the NCSL Denver office by Sept. 11 will be refunded minus a $50 processing fee. Cancellations must be made in writing and faxed to 303-364-7811. Fees cannot be refunded for registrations cancelled after the conference begins.

New Orleans is served by Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport. The airport is approximately a 20 minute drive from the Westin New Orleans Canal Place. If traveling in a group of two or more, the hotel recommends taking a cab ($33/two people or $14/person for three or more, one-way). If traveling alone, the hotel recommends using the New Orleans airport shuttle ($20 one-way or $39 roundtrip).
Each attendee is responsible for his or her own travel arrangements.
