Reviewing State Employee Compensation Systems  
(Joint with NLPES)

Explore methodologies and approaches to conducting studies of state employee compensation structures and how employee compensation is factored into the budget process. Learn from other states that have recently examined state employee compensation systems and how states budget for these costs.

4-5 p.m.

State Budget Systems and Software Roundtable Discussion

Discuss state budget systems and software applications, including recent changes and areas for improvement.

Members select the 2014 NALFO Executive Committee, present the NALFO Staff Achievement Awards and receive updates on NALFO activities.

Balancing control of the purse strings was a major issue in the American Revolution, and remains unresolved to this day. Learn about issues arising from recent legislative and executive disputes over appropriations.
