Presiding:

  • Representative Linda Harper-Brown, Texas, Co-Chair, NCSL Partners Project on PPPs
  • Representative Terri Austin, Indiana, Co-Chair, NCSL Partners Project on PPPs

Key government officials and private sector entities from the United Kingdom and the United States were invited to Washington, D.C., on March 26, 2010, to share their expertise about public-private partnerships and to develop actionable recommendations pertaining to state and federal PPP policies and programs. The focus of the summit was PPPs for transportation; other social infrastructure was also discussed.

The summit was an outgrowth of work conducted by NCSL’s Partners Project on PPPs for Transportation. For over 18 months, the Partners Project has worked to analyze legislators’ needs and to aid their decision-making regarding PPPs in transportation, both in their respective states and as they consider state-federal relationships. NCSL co-sponsored this event with UK Trade & Investment.
