Personal mobility is a crucial tool required for people to enjoy many significant aspects of their lives. A growing number of people with an age-related condition or disability or who are poor, don't have access to or can't drive a car. This timely report examines federal, state and local transportation efforts to coordinate programs to address transportation needs in urban and rural communities for indigent populations, veterans, people with disabilities, senior citizens and Medicaid recipients.
