Senate Finance Committee Hearing: Tax Reform: What It Means for State and Local Tax and Fiscal Policy

On April 25, The Senate Finance Committee, chaired by Senator Max Baucus of Montana, held a hearing on proposed federal legislation and its possible impacts on state and local tax policy. The topics covered by the committee included the state taxation of business travelers, interstate commercial activity, cell phone bills, digital downloads, as well as internet sales, specifically, the Marketplace Fairness Act (S.1832), which is supported by the National Conference of State Legislatures.
