Opportunities For Working Families: A Leadership

Forum for State Lawmakers: Monday, June 28, 2010

Running time: 00:43:03

Speaker
Steve Aos,
Washington Institute for Public Policy, Washington

Overview

Research and evaluation help lawmakers identify what a state is getting for the activities it undertakes and the funds it spends on behalf of its citizens. Tight budgets provide an opportunity to assess the policies and programs that are most effective in meeting the needs of citizens. This session focused on how the Washington Legislature uses its research and evaluation capacity to inform decision making.
