State by State Data on Child Support Collections, 2011

Updated January 2013

2011 State by State Child Support Collections

NCSL received preliminary information about 2011 State Child Support Collection Rates. States collected $32.8 billion in child support payments in FY 2011. The national collection rate for FY 2011 was 62.4 percent of all support due. Twenty-one states collected child support at levels above the national collection rate, and twenty-nine states and the District of Columbia collected support below the national collection rate.

Each year, the federal Office of Child Support Enforcement (OCSE) releases a report detailing information about financial and statistical program achievements based on quarterly and annual data. OCSE compiles information from state-submitted reports detailing program status. Below is a table listing each state, district or territory, arrearages for all fiscal years, total caseload and administrative expenditures for 2011. The complete report is available online.
