Overview

Sandy Curwood, director of Food and Nutrition Services for Ventura Unified School District, discusses how the school district has formed effective partnerships with the community, farmers, other school districts, and with USDA school meal programs. The De Anza Middle School—part of California's Ventura Unified School District—hosted the NCSL Hunger Partnership to showcase its farm-to-school salad bar and its school curriculum that integrates nutrition education, gardening, cooking and math.
