Patricia MacTaggart, Lead Research Scientist, GWU
Patricia MacTaggart is currently at The George Washington University (GW), where she instructs graduate students in health information technology (HIT) policy, quality and state health policy.
Prior to coming to GW, Patricia was a principal at Health Management Associates (HMA) and an executive at EDS for State and Local Government Health Care where she was responsible for system design and implementation, work on Medicaid Management Information Systems (MMIS), provider relations, prior authorization, drug utilization, drug rebate, and claims management.
Patricia has been involved in Medicaid and other publicly funded health care issues her entire career. She has held executive positions in a national research and consulting firm, a global for-profit company, a state-wide not-for-profit company, a federal government, a state government, and a county government. Patricia has been a public servant for almost 30 years, including serving as Minnesota’s Medicaid Director and various county-level eligibility positions. She was also Vice Chair of the National Association of State Medicaid Directors.
