Sudden Unexplained Infant Death Syndrome

Published 2006

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention launched the Sudden, Unexplained Infant Death Initiative in 2003 to create a national standard for collection of data at infant death scene investigations.   With implementation of the initiative, it will be possible to accurately survey infant deaths, conduct research to prevent sudden unexplained infant death (SUID), and create policy to guide SUID investigation and reporting.
