Diabetes:  Rising Rates, Disability and Death

More than 20 million Americans have diabetes, and it is the sixth leading cause of death in the United States.  Funding for most state diabetes programs has remained level in recent years, although 46 states and the District of Columbia require insurance coverage for diabetes equipment and supplies.
