The unfolding events at Japan’s nuclear power reactors following this month’s earthquake and subsequent tsunami have important implications for the U.S. nuclear energy industry and state policymakers. This webinar, hosted by the Nuclear Energy Institute, providef state policymakers with an update on the current status of the troubled nuclear reactors in Japan, activities to stabilize the complex, and efforts prevent the spread of radiation. Also heard was steps that the U.S. nuclear energy industry are taking to ensure that U.S. reactors could respond to events that may challenge safe operation of the facilities. Nuclear Energy Institute experts were available to answer any questions about the events in Japan or the U.S. response.
