Overview of New EPA Clean Air Regulations

During NCSL’s 2012 Legislative Summit in Chicago, EPA Principal Deputy Assistant Administrator for Air and Radiation Janet McCabe provided an overview of recent federal clean air efforts.   Her presentation covered:

  • air quality standards for ozone and small particulate matter;
  • reducing emissions from stationary sources such as power plants;
  • reducing emissions from vehicles and other mobile sources; and
  • air quality conservation measures for farms.

Ms. McCabe also addressed areas where the EPA is partnering with states to make air quality information public and protect public health.
