THE NCSL BLOG

22

Hello, I’m Senator Bruce Starr, president of NCSL.

NCSL President Bruce StarrAt NCSL, we keep our eye on Congress every day.  Our staff in Washington, D.C., is on the hill to fight for the goals we all share--no unfunded mandates and preemptions, and the preservation of our states’ authority. But we depend on you.

Republicans and Democrats come together through NCSL to make our voice unified and 50 states strong. This summer we’ll be writing the States’ Agenda at the Legislative Summit in Minneapolis.

If you’re a member of one of NCSL’s Standing Committees, I urge you to attend and help develop the policies that guide our advocacy efforts in Washington, D.C.  And even if you aren’t on an NCSL committee, we need you in Minneapolis to vote at the annual business meeting and formulate the States’ Agenda.  It’s important work, and I invite you to be part of it.  Together we can fight for the states and make a real difference.
