The Logistics
Work from our press room at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center. We provide computers, Internet connections and more. During the meeting, we'll also hold several press conferences to release reports, including an update on state budget conditions.
The Issues
In 180 policy sessions over four days, NCSL's 2008 Legislative Summit will cover the evergreen issues such as education, health care and corrections.
This year we will look deeper into:
- State finances and reaction to the current economy
- The top November election battlegrounds
- Affording our nation's health care
- Dealing with drought and the opportunities for innovation
- REAL ID, is it Really moving or Really stalled
- State strategies for soldiers returning home from active duty
