State legislatures are setting the agenda for action in the 21st century, so NCSL brings in the nation's experts on issues as varied as state finances, education, health care, transportation, criminal justice, welfare and more--all the important issues of the day--at numerous meetings throughout the year. These meetings give you the opportunity to meet with legislators and staff from across the country, share your ideas, learn about theirs, and tailor policies that work for your state and your constituents.

The Spring and Fall Forums of NCSL's Standing Committees examine federal issues and how they affect the states, as well as help develop NCSL's advocacy positions before Congress and the administration. Like legislatures, the Standing Committees are structured to allow free and open debate, and every one is welcome to attend.
The fall meeting will be held in San Diego,
California, Dec. 9-12More

The annual Legislative Summit is the largest and most substantive meeting of its kind in the nation. Each year more than 6,000 legislators, staff and others interested in public policy attend informative sessions on critical problems, to hear nationally renowned speakers, and to vote on policies to guide the advocacy efforts of the Conference. In 2010, the Summit will be held in Louisville, Kentucky, July 25-28. Questions?
